Actually, I can tell what is one of the better hot hatches, not just because I owned one, but because I've driven most of the competitors.

I had a Citroen ZX 16v for about a year. Very very rare. Other than the electrical faults it kept having (a la most frog cars) it was fantastic. Outhandled most things and out performed the Astra GSi, Golf GTi and Escort RS2000 and of course outhandling them all. Best of all, it didn't rust.

I do actually miss owning it.

What about the Pug 306 Rallye or GTI 6? How about the mad R5 gt turbo 2 or the 205 Group B rally Homologation special. And while we are on Group Bs,how about the Rs200? Or the Metro 6r4!
Yeah the Gte Champion is on my list.
Also love Auto Delta's 3.7 litre (yes that capacity is right) 147 gta!
 
6r4 wasn't really a roadgoing production car though. In standard trim, the Metro is a misserable poorly made car. Even the Turbo was nothing special. 4 speed gearbox anyone?
