Photography

Indeed, it's just a bit.. automatic

Yeh lol. Totally agree. Press a button, apply preset effect. Done. Rather than take photo, don't like photo, take again. Don't like, change lens take again. Put in to photoshop, realise you don't like it. Take it again with a different aperture and exposure. Decide you like it, put it in to Lightroom, and edit the white balance etc. decide you don't like it. Go cry yourself to sleep.

haha, I love this convo, I missed it though because the forum didnt email me :(

its not the kit its how you use it. Still would rather have a D90 than an Iphone though, stick to my wildfire s for being contacted on.

As some may be aware, my back-up camera and long trusty Nikon D70 is broken. Been quoted a preliminary £170 to fix it? Should i or shouldn't? They've never seen the fault before so the cost may go up.........or should i take it apart myself and take a looksee.......suppose nothing to lose?............looks like a coms failure between the sensor and the card?

get her fixed properly mate, these things are pretty complex inside and unless you know what your doing, dont bother, unless of course your gonna try and see if cleaning the contacts will help?

phew!
I thought I was having autofocus issues with my camera for a moment, in that with the telephoto lens on, it wouldnt autofocus at far away objects, and went all silly, refusing to focus. I read an aricle about AF problems and with a little blowing on it by mouth (because i am not at home and dont have my blower brush with me) it seems to have cured the problem, now it autofocus' again. Still want a D90 though

been messing about with the camera today snapped up a bumble bee

what did you take it with Wayne? and was it set to auto focus or manual focus, also was the lens too close to the subject matter?

Just had a look at the EXIF data that photobucket provided and it shows its your 1100D, with an apature of F4.5 and an ISO of 160 and a 1/250s shutter speed. It is possible the reason its blury is movement, otherwise the image looks pretty good.

keep practicing and take many shots if you can.

It doesn't look like motion blur, with macro stuff like that, the auto focus is awful. Try using manual focus, otherwise, crank up the aperture on the AV settings to give you a deeper depth of field. It might accommodate for the autofocus.

and another pic

Awesome. With the 1100D the live view shoot is good. I recommend using this on aperture priority, and manually focus it. Get a nice wide aperture, but keep an eye on the exposure time.

Mr Tmod, you do need to get around to editing your pics, eithe that or putting them on Flickr etc, without any editing. This is what I do, all of my stuff is just as it came out of the camera, bar the tilt shift stuff.
