Johnsastra16v - Red Ph1 GSi

ill find out saturday for you john

couple more problems ive found out with the car.

central locking doesnt opperate the passenger door. works fine with driver door, boot and petrol cap.

also passenger side electric wondow is VERY slow and doesnt wind down to the bottom.

I just know this list is going to keep getting longer and longer :-(

This is going to be a minter, cant wait to see it in its restored glory!

Me too! As you say John at least the problems are only minor ones (touch wood) thats preety good goin. When i got mine i wish that was what was only wrong with mine and mines a 'p' reg

first lot of things came today for the astra.
pics will follow later as im at work right now.

first off all, we have the original astra gsi brochure from 1992. 12 pages based purely on the gsi. great bit of memorabilia.

HID lights also came today from burnsie. still awaiting for the h4 10k bulbs from ebay though before i get to fit these.

also today came my remote central locking kit. had this on my last astra. deffo brings it into the 21st century lol
should be easy to wire as i have a thread on here from last time.
one thing though, i need to connect a wire from the aftermarket remote lockign box to the alarm siren. any ideas which wire this will be? and will i have to run it through to the engine bay? (assuming the siren is under the bonnet on a mk3)

could someone just confirm aswell, from memory the wires at the indicator stalk to wire to the central locking box to flash the indicators are a green/black wire and a green/grey wire. is that correct??

also placed an order this week with LMF for timing belt kit, headgasket kit and afew other bits and pieces.

not a greta updat, but an update none the less

as above, how much was the header tank loL :)

and nice work mate :)

now the idea for the GSi is to keep the bodywork totally standard.
inside im only going to make slight changes to improve the inside - mainly getting the calibra gauges in there.
as for the engine...
this is where i want the magic to be. ive been inspired by vxrmarc's vxr burg engine detail, so with my engine theres going to be alot of chrome, but not so much to look silly. its all going to work well together.
so heres the start of it. within the next few weeks she'll be getting headgasket done and the timing belt side of things. im toying with the idea of red silicon hoses too but unsure as of yet.
opinions always welcome

Sounds nice to me and i dont really think it will be too much with the hoses at all.
