Johns - Red Ph1 GSi (UPDATES PG 6&7)
Well I picked her up today, so thought id start my diary straight away.
a little about the car;
its a 1992 Astra GSi 2.0 16v
I am the THIRD OWNER, which is a rare find these days. Car belong to Salford Vauxhall, then bought 2 years old from a gentleman whos had it since.
Its on 117k genuine mileage with all MOTs to prove.
its even got the standard stereo!
The old girl does need some work though. First things first are the rear arches which are shot.
sills have rust too but dont look bad at all. so i'll see about those.
The drive home from rotherham to birmingham was great.
such a nice smooth car - the engine is great. just as smooth as my2003 2.2 astra coupe.
gearbox great, clutch is prety much new
just needs a damn good clean.
needs afew bits.
things ive noticed are:
new thermostat
windscreen washers struggle to work
headlight washers dont work
and the bonnet catch that pokes through the grille isnt there
other than that, shes greta
anyway enough of me...heres the pics
then i just had to see what the real colour was like.....
clay not too bad for half the bonnet and wing
