hi, just woundering ive got a mini cooper s supercharger, if i was to use it could i let it run off the alternator fan belt? would it work if i fitted it all and that? please help me out this is for a 2.0 ecotec engine, if so how much bhp we looking at?

something i have been wondering about... bin the air con pump, even got somewhere to put it...

i'm not an engine builder, but i'd assume other parts would need changing too - low compression pistons for a start.

not an easy job (if it was it would have already been done) but acheivable if you have the money or know how - and seeing as you had to ask if it's possible or not, you'll be needing the money. vast sums of it too.

can be pretty complicated fella, its not just a case of bolting it on and jobs a good un. You have to run it off an extra pulley from the crank. Its sensible to uprate pistons etc if you are serious about undertaking this work. Then you have to have an aftermarket ecu and then pay for mapping etc, that alone will stand you a couple of grand if you do it properly. All the costs add up, thats when you have to think about whether or not its worth it to you. Iv already worked out costs and planned what would need doing to acheive a good charger conversion. (*hint* watch this space *hint*).

Ahh, but a charges V6 would be all the more worthwhile!

A 'charged ecotec would just be a waste of money IMO - if you want FI and you want to be different - try having a pop at fitting a Z20LET - it's only been done once before and i'm not entirely sure that was ever finished.

It'll be cheaper as well.

Not worth it, IIRC the Eaton charger off a Cooper S is best suited to 1.6's, not really up to the job on a 2.0 litre.

Nope, Mini one would be no use.

As said, slap a LET in it and tune that to the hilt instead, way better results for your hard earned
