Ok at the risk of looking like a total baboon, im asking a stupid newbee question. I've only had my astra 2 weeks anyway. I hear people talk about x14xze 30co2let blah blah blah. I presume thats engine codes, but i've no idea what is what - even whats in my own car!
Could someone put a list of what they are?
Also would like to know whats in mine lol. Its a 1.4 merit on a M 3dr and has a carburetor if that helps.

If the hose that goes from your airbox to a round black thingy then its an NZ (spi), or if it go to a metal injecter type thingy its an MPI, much better lol

single point injection. its not a carburettor. its some kind of gay hybrid injection thingy. poo. i have the same.
theres C14NZ thats what you and i have. main ones are
c20xe (redtop),
c20xel,
c20let (turbo)
c16xel (1.6 16v),
20seh (2.0 8v)
and various others
 
does your's tick on tickover? lol how stupid does that sound?!?
mine has a horribly loud tickty tickty when idle - been told they're all like that but not so sure

well i'm just about to race my mate in his 1.6 vectra - i figure we might be somewhere close because the vectra is bound to weigh more right? What do you guys reccon? Ill let u know what happens later tonight. Both are totally standard
 
dont think theres a c20xel. but the rest are right.
theres also 20xe, x16xel which your mates veccy will have. to be honest your mates veccy will prob win, it may be heavier, but his engine has fair bit more power than your 1.4
 
nope lol the race got called off as my mate slammed his vectra over a huge rock on the way our start. Buckeled two of the four alloy's i sold him last week. haha. Totally ****ed his car - bent trackrod snapped 2 bolts in his bottom arm and cracked his brake disk - i laughed my tits off.

We'll try again as soon as he's put it all back together - we're desperate to know now as we were fairly close all the way up till he recked it lol
 
vectra all the way im afriad. the nz has trouble overtaking pushbikes.
 
nightshade-- you win by default as his car failed to make the start....

when you get a re-run shed everything that you can - take the spare wheel out, etc. (not that i condone cheating...heh)
 
vectra will rape your ass :lol:

my friend had the same engine thats in my astra (1.6 8v spi) in a vectra and there was hardly any difference in it at all.

so with your 1.4 spi you might be better of getting out and running :lol: unless he doesnt know how to drive :rolleyes:
