Okay, going backwards on my original plans lol... want some choonage back!

Main priority is to keep my boot practical, and nothing over-the top. Would like custom front foor cards with the speakers mounted to them... but wont they rattle to bits?

Rear speakers... stick to 5.25" ones in stock position?

All 4 speakers will be amped.

Sub... what, and where? Fancy something different. As bass is non-directional... have an 8" slimline one under each front seat maybe? Alternatively, find some rear seats with a ski hatch, and have a sub poking through there?

Hummmmmmmm suggestions?

Ive got 2 components kits in my car, one in the front, one in the back. I used to have 6x9's and that but since i got these, i wouldnt buy anything else! About the sub, all depends how much bass you want! Im a bass junkie so my whole car rattles lol

I rate kicker subs but not the square ones! They are loud but unrealible! Ive had my round kickers for 2 years now with no problems!

vibe subs are the shiznitz mate my space 15ins is so loud even on a 600w amp, i would say components as above but i have made custom door cards for mine, no rattles at all but the speakers have come loose and need tightening, sounds a lot better than in the stock location

vibe all the way just use lots of sound deadnin of the bk of the dorcards

What about ideas for an actual install? Pics....?

Had JL sub before, and I loved it. Not worried about actual hardware at the mo, just wondering about how to design it! Problem last time was that my boot became so impratical.

how about stealthbox.com or whatever it's called

Keeps max boot space and they go up to 15" on boxes

Had Vibe CBR Twin 12" in my boot with Kenwood 1800 watt amp (900rms @ 2 Ohm) for power. Literally knocked the air outta my lungs!!!!

Now have two 9152-d's and a Cerwin Vega Stroker:laugh:

Can someone do me a quick favour please? Measure the width of the ski-hatch in (non-GSi) rear seats.... cheers!

You wont get subs in the ski hatch its not that big.Make a false floor instead in the boot or passenger foot well.

Bass isn't absolutly non directional, it's just alot harder for the ear to pin point the origin of low tones, you would notice the difference between having it in the boot and in front or even under you.

The good news is that it will sound better.

As for the look of the install, if you want stealth - no door pods!

They look good and sound even better when done properly, but they stick out like a saw thumb. So the theives will see them, then rip you car apart trying to find the rest of your kit.

If you wanted to be invative you could make some small pods in the dash, alot of cars have dash mouned speakers (mum's old Renault 19 had them) so you could get some discret OE grills from another car to hide a set of components.

That would leave the doors free for an extra 6 inch mid bass, or a clever (but tiny) enclosure for a small sub. (like the 13KS i mentioned in your other thread).

At the end of the day, a true stealth install is about imagenation and inovation.

Practice on bits from a scrappy first tho, before you chop up anything you might regret f*cking up.
