hey dudes
just put my sub into the new astra and was wondering. how are urs secured? The floor is a ****ty spare wheel cover and my amp is attached to the back of the sub box as i need to be able to get it all out once in a while.

Any ideas??

yea mate builld a false floor so its nice and level then velcro it or screw it down with some small right angled bits of metal, usually used to strengthen joints of wood...

lol @ lee
Yeah i had previously thought of velcro, but wasn't sure if it would be strong enough to hold all that weight when i'm throwing her round corners lol At the min there is nothing above the soare wheel exept carpet, so i need to put some kind of floor in there - its really bumpy.

Are there any premade floors avaliable?

No, you'll have to go DIY. Do a search on here, plenty has been said about false floors.

Velcro may stop it sliding around when cornering, but it wont help you if you have a crash.

Secure it down properly, last thing you want is to crash then be killed by your sub box flying into the back of your head.

my mate untill he could afford to do a faulse floor, used straps, you know them little straps with a buckle for holding shat down (forget there proper name) he screwed one side on floor and wrapped them round sub box.. couldnt tell cause straps were same colour as sub box, but thats a cheap and effective way untill you do it proper...

In my old car, i used a 18mm MDF sheet to make a false floor, and used some L-shaped brackets to bolt the sub down through the floor, never budged an inch, lol.

Does the job fine :)

i think im going to do a false foor in my car with bonnet lifters so i can get to the spare wheel if it works lol
Good idea, lifting out a twin 12" sub box and 2 amps on a piece of mdf aint fun when you've got a puncture., speaking from experience
