Clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed there this morning,
the cable has not broken, anyone got any ideas.seems like a
problem at pedal end of cable, also has started running on 3 cylinders
when its really wet:sad:

have you tried adjusting the cable?

mine did this and the reason was that the cable was not sat in the metal guide properly, then one day the plastic ring on the cable snapped which ment the cable sat in the guide properly but the cable was then too long and was on the floor.

i adjusted the cable, by winding the nut that holds it to the arm on the gearbox clockwise until it was in about the right place.. i could then get all gears with no problems..

I had a problem with my brake pedal... used to press brake and used to stick down had to knock it up with my foot.. stuck my head in the feet well and sprayed loads of lube on them.. solved and never had a problem again ???.. If it is that make sure you get right in that spring and work it while spraying

Not sure if the same set up but my Dad had the same hapnin with his VW Passatt and his clutch master cylinder was knackerd

Its a cable clutch. First thing to do is check the clutch cable hasnt snagged on anything (like Speedo Cable) before doing anything drastic. !!

Hi guys. Finally got round to looking at the bloody thing,
turns out the little plastic adjuster nut had stripped on the threaded
end of the cable and ripped off.need to get new cable soon, cant wait, its a bitch
Got a pair of vise grips holding my cable on
just now lol, still no closer to finding why it runs on 3 cylinders when wet tho
