hi all just a quick question, above the front and rear doors on my car the laqure is ****ed and peeling off i was wondering ir i coud use wet n dry to take the layer of laqure off car i just re laqure? or would i have to respray? thanks.

I'm having this problem too, but actually on the door. Haven't got round to sorting mine out yet though but I'd say it would be a good idea to treat it as a rust patch. Just sand it down a little, clean the area with methylated spirits and a lint free cloth, give it a couple of very light layers of paint, then a couple of layers of lacquer.

thanks mate im thinkin of givin this a go weekend if the weather is good.

i had rust on my rear o/s arch and i didnt bother sanding down abit i went back to bare metal and primered alot then painted then laquered it looks mint but i only advise it if your handy wih paint

If you want to get the lacquer off start with 2000 grit wet and dryso you can get down to a smooth surface to re-lacquer.

Go really easy and check every 5 or six passes of the paper though as it is easy to break through the paint. Make sure you keep the paper wet too...
