failed on a split cv boot, and corroded front brake lines. thats it! reasonably happy, but i won't count my chickens until i've got the certificate in my hands

im hoping that when mine has its mot ill have it done from the place down the road from my work and that we can come to some kind of arangement lol mainly cos the 3 door dont have door handles or side repeaters lol

see how bad the gaitor is, you might get away with gluing it neatly with a little tiger seal or similar, also if the brake lines arnt that bad, lighty sand down to remove corrosion and and paint with a landrover green iirc, and apply a thin smear of grease to the out side.

Agreed with the brake lines – rub down a little and cover in copper grease

Yeah they are you have to have a mechanical way of gaining access to the car

Yeah, you can get round it by putting your windows down and pulling the fuse, but it depends on the MOT tester

The majority of testers i've spoke to won't pass something that major as it's a safety issue as far as they're concerned and they can lose their MOT license if they get found out. I found this out when i was thinking about doing it to mine
