is it true ive just heard that come march every new driver will need a minimum of 100hours driveing lessons before the test??

or is it complete rubish my banned neighbour is saying??

that's what they're trying to do, I wasn't aware it was agreed yet though. It also included mandatory lessons at night and motorway driving, which means they'll have to rework some laws.

its all just a fooking scam to get more money out of us pretty soon your gonna have to buy a licence to wipe your own @rse and have a certain amount of hours practising which they will charge you for

Tell him to get his bus pass from up his **** and STFU

So, how are you going to prove the 100 hours? Don't reckon it's true.

I think in some cases its necessary, as some people on the road just cant drive for sh1t.

100 hours of driving lessons might give a women driver an incling of how to park ;)

They expect people to pay the best part of £2k to learn to drive?

How old do you have to be, to be a driving instructor?

i heard on the news it was gonna be a minimum of 120 hours of lessons.
that's a lot of money just to pass your test, i think it'll put a lot of people off doing it tbh.
i'm glad i passed mine when it was just the one test:nod:

Rumours like this have been going around for years. When i was learning everyone was saying they were going to increase the age limit to 19 for a provisional.

I thought it was a bad idea when i was 17, but now i think it's a great idea! How many cars would that take off the road? and they'd be foreced to improve public transport, and kids would be encouraged to stay in school/collage or go to uni, just for the ball-ache of finding a away to get to work!

I tell ya, if i was Prime Minister!

It costs that much to drive a truck....... and you can already drive!!!!
It also costs nearly that much to drive a digger.....and you can already drive!!!
Bring it on I say. Will stop half the ****s out there who shouldnt have a licence...getting one!!!!!

What it will do tho is start a price war with driving instructors. Prices for learning to drive will come down. Hate to say this but it was £6.50 a lesson when i learnt. Was 14.50 or 16.50 for the test...cant remember now...was sooo long ago :)

and what happens heaven forebid you lost your licence and was forced to take a re-test, you wouldnt think 100 hours minimum would be great then would you ;)

The main problem is people who have just passed their tests and just drive around for the hell of it/drive too fast to try and impress people.

Maybe drivers should be required to drive a 14NZ for the first two yeard to stop them from being able to drive fast with-out experence.

I dont think they would enforce a 100 hours experience thing if you already had a licence. Only for new drivers

nothing wrong with going for a drive  i always (still do some times) just drive some where because im bored. You can have as many lessons as you like but you dont start learning until you have a car you care about and dont have an instructor sitting next to you

The best lesson I had was the first time I drove a car on my own after I'd passed my test and got my insurance. You don't have any confidence when you're with someone, I did 80 miles after I did my test on my own. Loved it.

I've done about 50,000 miles just doing 'research driving' when I'm bored.

I didnt mean it like that, I was talking about new driver boy racers who race around for fun just because it's 'cool' or whatever.

Going for a chilled cruise is pretty enjoyable and I have nothing against that.
