I mite b buyin an astra sport 2.0 16v. wat r they like in terms of performance? i no its askin a bit much 4 an ecotech bt how far behind a clio 172 as my supervisor in work got 1 and a mate went in it 2 day and said it was FAST AS F**K lol

well, the 172 will have 172bhp and be lighter than the astra - which only has 130bhp.

Stepping up from your spi it would be a huge gain in performance, but not a match for the Clio - unless driven by a god.

well sounds interesting its all down to how u drive just cos the clio has more bhp and is faster dont mean anything if the driver cant use it right but that is just what i think

But in sayin that I wouldn't swap my sport for anythin, it may not be the best handling car on the road but it all makes for an interesting driving experience

it will be spanked by the clio i would say ,theres 1 near me and its fast ,even in corners they go on 3wheels and stil stick. id get it cos its better than an spi mate

i only want 2 keep up with it 4 a month or 2. i'll turbo this 1 insted of my spi if its a beter shell

they are fast but not what i would say is rapid. i raced one the other night(well i raced it twice on two different nights) we was on a stretch of road about a mile and a bit long with a roundabout either end,we both came round the roundabout level and booted it,i was in second dont know what he was in but we was pretty level untill about 90mph, then he crept in front of me about 3-4 car lengths. so overall i think it would probably pee all over an ecoflop.

thts what i was thinking.but my bro (lukec) got a qoute on a 3L omega and it was 900 fully comp and hes paying about 700 on his astra 1.6 cesaro.confusing eh!!

I havent got a clue mate i tried on confused.com an it came 2 about £900 fc
where as my spi is £1250 fc it was the same as a mk4 sri 1.8 it was a lot cheaper and thats wit 9points
