As the title suggests, I'm having a problem with an Indesit washing machine. When this particular machine works, its a bloody good little machine, but now its being more problematic than ever.
What happens is. You will fill the machine as normal, with clothes and powder, set the program, and turn it on. It will then fill with water as normal. However sometimes it will fill, then drain, before throwing up an error code, sometimes it will fill, run for a little bit then drain, showing the error code.
The error code is, as far as I can work out. F08, heater relay stuck/contacts welded closed.

Basicly does anyone on here have experience with this error, know how to fix it, or what causes it. So far I've narrowed it down to either the element being faulty, which is £20 to replace. or the ECU which is up to £100 to replace. Or could get a used machine for the same price. I dont really want to have to get rid of this machine, if I dont have to, as its a good machine and its just had new bearings and a water inlet valve fitted.

btw the machine is an Indesit W161UK

f08 error code = Heater relay cannot be activated
•Check wiring
•Check pressure switch and connections
•Tap relays as they can jam on new boards
•Check electronic control PCB
This is from a site I use to repair my white goods hope it helps

I give the machine a bang on the side panel and that sometimes helps. I've also unplugged and replugged all the connections that I can think of. I assume the pressure switch you mentioned is somewhere near the water inlet connections and valves?
I assume the relays are in the control module, so I'd have to take that out to check it.

by the way Mk3dee, you dont happen to be in Hawarden, Flintshire? as that isnt far from me.
