A mk2 is born!

Can i just ask?...Why all the weight loss mate?

you Astra's Anorexic

Saves fuel, better performance, more money to drive it more! If you can save money, you might aswell! You could ditch the jack and tyre iron altogether and just phone the AA for punctures? "I have no idea what I'm doing" or "The jack broke and I couldn't find a replacement" Not going to save you 40kg like but it's better than a kick in the head! Or go for a space saver?

Don't have breakdown cover otherwise i would ditch the spare wheel too when it goes on track or down the strip these will be removed any way as the spare weighs around 20kg.

Why strip it? As above performance! at 800kg with 150bhp it would keep up with a 200bhp gte with full trim the brakes are better and it handles better apart from in the wet! I have Stripped a gte before and i was getting close to 14 sec quarters and 0-60 in just under 6 sec with a standard healthy xe. Best car i ever had and this one will be lighter with more power!! :)

Haven't had alot of time to work on the old girl recently got loads of work on so can't complain too much! Got 4 x white gte wheels and tires off e-bay for £32.02 which i thought was a bit of a bargain 2 of them even had center caps!!! I had a mint white one stashed away from my first gte so i now have a set of five! They will need painting but are in pretty good condition.

Brakes just scraped through but they are getting swapped for a cav v6 hub and brake set up soon so not too bothered.

Emissions were also very good not bad for a 24 year old carb fed engine.
